Together with Marc Daniel van Biemen I will play at the Leidse Hofjes Festival, where we perform the infamous Ysaye Duo Sonata.
In Zwolle I will play duo sonatas by Ysaye and Prokofiev together with Marc Daniel van Biemen. We will also play a few pieces together with my father and pianist Skip van Rooij, who will as well play a composition of his own! This will be a very special and unique concert!
I will be playing again at the St. Aegtenkapel in Amersfoort! This charming little hall in my hometown is one of my most favorite places in the world. It’s acoustics and ambiance are wonderful and is always filled with a grateful audience.
Together with my family I will be doing this very special empty-hall-concert at the flint in Amersfoort.
Een ogenschijnlijk vreemde eend in de bijt: een samenwerking tussen het Alma Quartet en New Cool Collective. New Cool Collective, het piekfijn geklede achtkoppige jazzdance-monster van Benjamin Herman, staat bekend om hun unieke mix van jazz, dance, latin, salsa, afrobeat en boogaloo. Het Alma Quartet is een award winnend strijkkwartet uit Amsterdam dat in de meest prestigieuze concertzalen stond met o.a. Philip Glass en Jean-Yves Thibaudet. Met een van Beethovens late strijkkwartetten (zijn 12e uit 1825, opus 127) als uitgangspunt gaan ze de uitdaging aan om de universaliteit en tijdloosheid van Beethoven te interpreteren naar een tot nu toe ongekende setting. Met andere woorden: met z’n twaalven gaan ze op zoek naar de jazz in Beethoven. Wat er op het podium gaat klinken blijft een verrassing, maar één ding staat vast: het wordt ongehoord.
I will be playing the very first performance of a composition written by myself ever! Together with fantastic musicians from the ‘Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra’, the ‘Netherlands Kamer Orchestra’ and the ‘Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra’.
